1 Samuel 23:13

Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.

After delivering Keilah from the Philistines, David and his men, numbering about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah and went wherever they could go. They did not remain in the town they had saved, because they were not secure among its people despite the deliverance they had wrought for it. Still pursued by Saul, they found no place of rest or safety. From Keilah they passed on into the wilderness of Ziph.

When it was told to Saul that David had escaped from Keilah, he refrained from marching out after him. That halting of the pursuit marks this moment as another stage in David's continued flight from Saul.
