Jonathan Strengthens David in the Woodby emmanuel_higgins

1 Samuel 23:17

And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.

Jonathan spoke these words to encourage David while David was hunted and in danger. He told him not to fear, because Saul would not succeed in finding him. He declared that David would become king over Israel, and that he himself would be next to him. He added that Saul his father also knew of this coming kingship. His words strengthened David's heart as they recalled God's dealings with him.
