David Prays in Hiding as Saul's Soldiers Approachby emmanuel_higgins

1 Samuel 23:21

And Saul said, Blessed be ye of the LORD; for ye have compassion on me.

The words belong to the period of David's flight after Saul slaughtered the priests. In that same setting David sheltered Abiathar, the escaped son of Ahimelech, and promised him safety with himself.

The Ziphites had told Saul where David was hiding. Saul answered them by blessing them in the Lord's name and thanking them for having compassion on him in helping him pursue David. David learned of their plan and moved away to another refuge.
