Abigail Standing by a Window with Hands on Her Heartby KalebRosendahl
25:321 Samuel 25:32
And David said to Abigail, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me:
David recognized that Abigail had been sent by the Lord God of Israel to meet him that day. He blessed God for her intervention because it kept him from taking revenge by destroying Nabal and his household, which would have been a grave wrong and a great evil. Her respectful plea is what turned him away from carrying out that revenge. She acted promptly and on her own initiative, following what she knew to be the way of the Lord.
