David's Servants Ask Nabal for Provisionsby AbiQueenie7

1 Samuel 25:9

And when David’s young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased.

David was being hunted by Saul after Saul's slaughter of the priests of the Lord, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech escaped and fled to David. David told Abiathar to abide with him and promised him safeguard under his protection.
David's young men came to Nabal and spoke to him according to all David's words in David's name, delivering his courteous request, and then ceased and stopped. Nabal answered that message with insolence, returning evil for the good David had done in protecting his flocks and shepherds. He refused to share his food in return for that protection.
