1 Samuel 28:22

Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way.

This moment belongs to Saul's consultation of the medium at Endor. He came there seeking forbidden counsel after God had left him, and in that visit he was deceived by Satan. What he met was not the prophet himself but a counterfeit Samuel.

At that point Saul was faint from weariness and fasting, terrified and troubled in conscience. The woman urged him to eat so that he might preserve his life, appealing to the fact that she had risked her own life to grant his request, and when his servants joined her pleas he agreed. She quickly prepared a fatted calf and unleavened bread, which he ate in her cave in the presence of Satan's messenger to gain strength for the coming battle. Beyond its place in this counterfeit encounter, the offer of food carries no further explanation.
