1 Samuel 6:15
And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the LORD.
The ark arrived at Beth-shemesh during the wheat harvest. The Levites lifted down the ark of the Lord and the coffer that was with it, containing the jewels of gold, from the cart and set them upon the great stone. That same day the men of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices unto the Lord.
They broke up the wood of the cart and offered the cart itself and the kine that had drawn it as a burnt offering. The gold gifts of the Philistines were thus presented to the Lord that day. The Philistine lords witnessed the reception of the ark and then returned home convinced that Israel's God had brought the plagues upon them.
