1 Samuel 6:18
And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite.
The great stone on which the ark was set down stood at Beth-shemesh in the field belonging to Joshua the Beth-shemite, and it remained there as the lasting marker of that spot. The lords of the Philistines followed the ark all the way to that place. There the wooden cart was broken up and, together with the cows that had drawn it and the offering the Philistines had sent, was offered to God as a burnt sacrifice.
