1 Timothy 4:3
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
The foods created to be accepted with gratitude are the simple, wholesome, health-giving productions of the earth provided for sustenance. They are to be eaten with thanksgiving and with care, in simplicity and without placing unnecessary burdens upon the stomach. The path of nature that has been made is sure and safe and wide enough for all who will walk in it, and there is cooperation to preserve the health of those who eat in this way.
The verse shows the progression of apostasy, which began by enjoining practices that had not been forbidden and ended by forbidding what had been explicitly commanded.
