1 Timothy 4:4

For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

Every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused when it is received with thanksgiving and gratitude. Every creature means God's wholesome, health-giving provisions and productions of the earth given for food and sustenance. Good, ripe, undecayed fruit is beneficial to health and is to be received with thankfulness to the Lord. The verse does not call for giving up good food, only for giving up what causes harm and choosing something better, including discarding pastries, cakes, and dishes made to tempt the appetite.

Receiving food with thanksgiving means eating simply and carefully, with few kinds of food at one meal, without placing unnecessary burdens on the stomach, which preserves health. God cooperates to preserve the health of those who walk in the sure and safe path of nature He has made wide enough for all.

It means making meals inviting and cheerful and eating slowly and cheerfully with grateful praise to God for His gifts and blessings. It means eating simple, healthful food according to one's best judgment, asking God to bless it for bodily strength, trusting that He hears, and resting without anxiously dwelling on whether it will cause harm.
