1 Timothy 5:25

Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise can not be hid.

Some people's good works are openly evident even before judgment. Good works that are not evident beforehand, and other works that are otherwise hidden, cannot ultimately remain hidden but will certainly become known.

Christ is the pattern both for life itself and for evaluating a person's life, and hidden character becomes known through character, conduct, and influence. Sound principles, a good reputation among those who know a person best, and a Christlike influence are evidence of good character. Such evidence warrants fellowship and confidence and fitness for sacred office as a minister.

Unstable conduct that contradicts a person's words reveals a mixed character. Such conduct may profane both people and God. It makes a person unfit for confidence as a minister.
