2 Chronicles 1:3
So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness. So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
Early in Solomon's reign he went to Gibeon with the whole congregation, the leaders of Israel. They went there because the tabernacle of the congregation that Moses had made in the wilderness was still at Gibeon. By that time the ark had already been brought to Jerusalem, while the tabernacle and the brazen altar remained at Gibeon.
There Solomon joined the leaders in offering sacrifices to God. Their gathering and sacrifices were an act of worship expressing their desire to dedicate themselves anew to God's service. It also expressed their desire to seek help from God for the responsibilities resting upon them.
