2 Chronicles 12:3
With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians. With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem in an invasion of Judah. The invasion took place in the fifth year of King Rehoboam. His force numbered twelve hundred chariots and threescore thousand horsemen, together with people out of Egypt without number. That countless host included the Lubims, also called Libyans, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians. He took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah and then came on to Jerusalem.
The invasion came because Judah had forsaken the Lord. It came because Judah had transgressed against the Lord and been unfaithful to Him. It served as judgment for that apostasy.
