King Abijah Calls Out from Mount Zemaraimby emmanuel_higgins

2 Chronicles 13:4

And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;

Abijah's stand and call to Jeroboam and all Israel belongs to the war between Judah and Israel after the kingdom divided following Solomon's death, a conflict between Judah and the revolting northern tribes in which Abijah spoke for Judah's army to the hostile northern kingdom. He stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in Mount Ephraim, an eminence near Bethel, addressing Jeroboam and all Israel from that height during the war between the kingdoms. Jeroboam confronted there was the first king of backsliding Israel, whose golden calves marked an early departure from God.

From that position Abijah reminded Jeroboam and all Israel that God's covenant with David guarantees the kingdom to David and his sons forever, and warned them not to fight against God. The conflict ended with Judah conquering because the Lord helped Judah after Abijah called upon Him. Jeroboam's revolt and attempt to subdue Judah parallels the Southern states' secession and the effort to extend that government over the North in the American Civil War.
