2 Chronicles 14:2

And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:

Asa's reign was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God, pleasing to Him in moral character and correctness. That goodness was not passive but took the form of determined reform against idolatry. He took away the altars of foreign gods, the high places, the images, and the groves dedicated to false worship.

He commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers and to do the law and the commandment. The cleansing extended through the cities of Judah, where he removed the high places and the images out of all the cities. This included the images of the sun, swept away as part of the same city-by-city reformation. And as the fruit of this obedience, the kingdom was quiet and had rest under his rule.
