2 Chronicles 17:10
And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat. And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
The protection came after Jehoshaphat sought God, kept His commandments, removed idols, and sent teachers with the book of the law throughout Judah in a revival for the people to understand God's requirements and lessen sin. God Himself put the fear of the Lord upon all the kingdoms of the lands round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat and Judah was protected from neighboring enemies. As a result Jehoshaphat was left unmolested and lived in peace for many years.
In that peace he grew exceedingly great, blessed with riches and honor. The peace also brought Judah tribute and gifts and enabled Jehoshaphat to build up the kingdom. With that greatness and peace he could wield mighty influence for truth and righteousness.
Obedience to the Lord brings His favor and approval, and faithful practice of righteous principles bears divine approval. Religious revival and determined effort to lessen sin are accompanied by divine protection. God's people today are likewise to walk in the fear of the Lord and live so as to convince unbelievers of the power of Christ's grace.
