2 Chronicles 17:11
Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats. Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.
During Jehoshaphat's peaceful reign, the fear of the Lord rested upon the surrounding nations. In that season the Philistines brought him presents and tribute silver, while the Arabians brought him flocks numbering seven thousand and seven hundred rams and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats. These gifts were worldly honor and prosperity from surrounding nations. By this tribute he became exceedingly great in wealth and influence.
That growing wealth and influence gave him enlarged power to use for truth and righteousness. Yet such exaltation worked unfavorably upon his piety. It spoiled him and made him self-sufficient.
