2 Chronicles 17:18

And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war.

Jehozabad commanded 180,000 men ready prepared for war as one division of Jehoshaphat's army. These men waited on the king and belonged to a larger force serving him. That larger force also garrisoned Judah's fortified cities throughout all Judah, beside those waiting on the king.

This strength existed during many years when Jehoshaphat lived in peace unmolested by surrounding nations because the fear of the Lord fell upon all the kingdoms round about Judah. At that time Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly, built castles and store cities in Judah, and was blessed with riches and honor in abundance. He received tribute money and presents from Philistia and large flocks of sheep and goats from Arabia. That power enabled him to wield a mighty influence for truth and righteousness.
