2 Chronicles 18:14

And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

When Ahab asked whether to go to war at Ramoth-gilead, Micaiah answered him with a promise of success and deliverance into their hand. His words were not sincere encouragement but an ironic echo of the victory promised by the four hundred prophets who had spoken before him. What followed made his true meaning plain, for in vision he saw Israel scattered as a flock without a shepherd. Despite that warning both kings pressed on into battle, and Ahab was slain there, so that the prophet's message of doom was fulfilled.
