And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner. And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
The inquiry in heaven over who would entice Ahab belongs to the history of his campaign against Ramoth-gilead. The king received warning through the prophet Micaiah against going up to that battle. He rejected the warning and went into the fight nonetheless. He died there, and the prophet's word was fulfilled in his fall.
