2 Chronicles 18:31
And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
The incident belongs to the allied campaign at Ramoth-gilead, when Jehoshaphat of Judah joined Ahab of Israel in battle after Micaiah had warned that the enterprise would end in failure. In the press of the fighting the Syrian chariot captains mistook Jehoshaphat for the king of Israel and closed around him to attack, but he was spared and came safely through the battle. He returned afterward to Jerusalem, while Ahab was slain on that same field, so that Micaiah's warning was fulfilled in Ahab's death and Jehoshaphat's deliverance.
