2 Chronicles 18:6

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?

Jehoshaphat was unsatisfied with the favorable answer given by Ahab's four hundred false prophets in Samaria. He therefore asked whether a prophet of the LORD was available besides them, so they might inquire and seek God's will about going to war. Genuine inquiry through a prophet of the LORD is thus distinguished from counsel that merely confirms a king's wishes.

At his request Micaiah was called, though Ahab disliked him because he prophesied evil concerning him. Micaiah gave an unwelcome warning. The kings' refusal to heed that warning led to disaster.
