2 Chronicles 2:3
And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me. And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.
Solomon sent a message to Huram the king of Tyre asking for the same dealing that had been extended to David his father. The specific request was for cedar timber to be sent for the building of a house for dwelling. The appeal invoked the earlier provision made for David's building work as the pattern to be continued. In this way the temple project stands as a continuation of the established relationship and supply for building from David's reign into Solomon's.
