2 Chronicles 2:4

Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.

The house was erected to the name of the Lord God and set apart to Him for worship and service. That dedication was expressed in burning fragrant incense before Him, in keeping the showbread continually before Him, and in presenting burnt offerings morning and evening. The same offerings belonged to the Sabbaths and to the new moons and to the appointed solemn feasts of the Lord. These observances stood as an enduring ordinance upon Israel.
