The building under construction was to be large in scale because the God it served is greater than all gods. That largeness was a tribute honoring the God to whom it was dedicated. It was dedicated and built in his name as a place for worship. It was appointed also as a place for sacrifice. Yet no house could contain him, since even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain him.
