2 Chronicles 20:16
To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
To morrow Judah was to go down against the invaders, and was told exactly where they would be found, coming up by the cliff of Ziz at the end of the brook before the wilderness of Jeruel. The direction was given to a terror-stricken people facing a great invading multitude, commanding them to go out the next day to meet the enemy while revealing in advance the enemy's route and place. With that precise guidance came the assurance that they would not need to fight, but were to stand still and witness deliverance, for the battle was not theirs but God's and the Lord would be with them.
In response Judah went out to meet the enemy, the army advancing while singers went before praising God for the promised victory.
For God's people today this means God Himself is their strength in every emergency. They are not to trust in princes nor to put fallible, erring men in God's place as their strong tower of defense. They are not to look at supposed impossibilities, but to Him who has all power with limitless resources, holding in every crisis that the battle is His. So understood, apparent impossibilities only make the victory greater.
