2 Chronicles 21:16
Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians: Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:
The stirring up was the Lord's own act, bringing the spirit of the Philistines and of the Arabians near the Ethiopians against Jehoram of Judah. It came as punishment for his apostasy and wicked rule, in fulfillment of Elijah's written warning. That warning charged him with not walking in the ways of Jehoshaphat and Asa, with walking in the way of the kings of Israel, with making Judah and Jerusalem go whoring like the house of Ahab, and with slaying his better brethren.
Stirred up by the Lord, they came up into Judah and broke into it and invaded it. They plundered and carried away all the wealth and substance found in the king's house, with his wives and his sons. No son was left to him except his youngest son, Jehoahaz, also called Ahaziah and Azariah. Jehoram afterward died after suffering an incurable disease of the bowels.
