2 Chronicles 22:11
But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.
Athaliah was destroying the royal descendants who were eligible to rule over Judah. From among the king's sons who were being slain, Jehoshabeath took the infant Joash and rescued him from death. She placed him together with his nurse in a bedchamber, hiding them in the temple away from Athaliah. In saving Joash she preserved a descendant of David who could afterward come to the throne. While Joash remained hidden, Athaliah ruled over Judah for six years.
