Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri. Ahaziah took the throne of Judah and reigned for one year. His mother was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri. Through her influence he walked in the ways of the house of Ahab and did evil. He bound himself in alliance with his uncle Jehoram of Israel. His brief rule came to its end when he died while on a visit to Jehoram at Jezreel.
