2 Chronicles 23:17
Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.
After Athaliah was executed, all the people went to the house of Baal and broke it down, smashing its altars and its images in pieces and slaying Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. That destruction brought to an end the public worship of Baal in Judah which Athaliah had encouraged. With Baal worship thus cleared away, the way was opened for reformation.
