2 Chronicles 23:19
And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in. And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in.
The verse belongs to the crowning of seven-year-old Joash as king of Judah after the corrupt reign of his grandmother Athaliah. Athaliah had seized the throne after the death of her son Ahaziah and sought to put to death all of her son's children to clear them from her way. The infant Joash and his nurse had been hidden in the temple by his aunt, the wife of Jehoiada the high priest. When Athaliah's rule grew so corrupt that the people revolted, Joash was brought out from hiding and proclaimed king, and Athaliah was slain. While Jehoiada lived the young king remained under his influence, the house of the Lord was repaired, the worship of the true God was firmly established once more, and porters were set at its gates so that nothing unclean would enter.
