2 Chronicles 24:13
So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it. So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.
The hired workmen carried the restoration through to completion, bringing the house of God back to its proper condition and making it firm and strong. Their finishing of the work set the house in its state and strengthened it. That outcome came through religious contributions given beyond the tithe.
The money that paid them had been brought for the service of the house and was used to employ the workmen who perfected the repair, so the completion stands as an example of meeting the cost of repairs and other expenses by additional gifts beyond the tithe. The tithe itself was devoted exclusively to the Levites set apart for the service of the sanctuary. Erecting the tabernacle and afterward the temple, as well as providing for necessary repairs and other expenses, required separate offerings.
