2 Chronicles 24:16

And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.

Jehoiada was buried in the city among the kings because he had done good in Israel toward God and toward His house, meaning toward His people. His burial among the kings illustrates the earthly honor that many make their lifelong ambition, to be esteemed great among men and to have their name handed down as great. True greatness is not seeking the honors of earth but living so as to deserve the testimony of having done good toward God and His people, as if that testimony could be written on the gravestone. True greatness is having the name registered in the Lamb's book of life, and those who remain faithful to the end will receive a purer and nobler immortality than earth can conceive and a crown of immortal glory that never fades.
