2 Chronicles 26:14

And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.

The record of shields and spears and helmets and body armor and bows and stone-slinging weapons belongs to the history of Uzziah. His course ended disastrously in presumption against the plain command of Jehovah that none but the descendants of Aaron should officiate as priests. That presumption was shown when he entered the sanctuary to burn incense upon the altar. He persisted in his purpose even after Azariah the high priest and his associates remonstrated with him and pleaded with him to turn back. They urged that he had trespassed and that his act would not be for his honor.
