Uzziah did what was right in the Lord's sight, following all that his father Amaziah had done. That right doing belonged to his early faithfulness, coming before he sought God and before God made him prosper. His early obedience did not keep him from afterward growing proud in success. In that pride he presumed to enter upon a priestly office and perform a priestly duty that God had not assigned to him.
