2 Chronicles 28:18

The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Ajalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho with the villages thereof, and Timnah with the villages thereof, Gimzo also and the villages thereof: and they dwelt there.

The Philistines invaded the cities of the low country and of the south of Judah, captured several towns with the villages belonging to them, and dwelt there. This belongs to the account of Judah during the reign of King Ahaz. It illustrates the strife and loss that came during Ahaz's reign. That time was one of sin and darkness and a low point in the nation's condition.
