2 Chronicles 30:10
So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them. So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.
This verse belongs to the account of Hezekiah's first Passover, when provision was made for teaching priests to read the law publicly to the people each day. His royal couriers carried his invitation to keep the Passover in Jerusalem from city to city through Ephraim and Manasseh as far as Zebulun. The invitation was a call for Israel to repent and return to God and turn to Him. Most of the remaining people of the northern kingdom met the messengers with indifference and contempt, rejecting them, laughing them to scorn and mocking them. Despite the mocking, some humbled themselves and went to Jerusalem.
