2 Chronicles 30:13

And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

The verse records a very great congregation assembling at Jerusalem in the second month to keep the feast of unleavened bread. They had gathered in response to Hezekiah's invitation to all Israel and Judah to celebrate the Passover, and this was his first Passover. Among those who came were men from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun of the northern kingdom, who humbled themselves and journeyed to Jerusalem to worship.

Most in the northern kingdom rejected the invitation to come. The gathering that did assemble was part of a call to return to God while a remnant of Israel still remained. Provision was made for teaching priests to read the book of the law publicly each day, so that the people assembled for the celebration might be instructed in the statutes of Moses. That keeping of the statutes of Moses belonged to the religious practice of Hezekiah's prosperous reign. The account stands as an appeal to God's people in the present time, and to people of every age, to give themselves wholly to the Lord.
