2 Chronicles 30:14
And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron. And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.
The removal of the altars in Jerusalem and their casting into the Kidron took place in connection with the first Passover celebrated by Hezekiah. At that same time provision was made for teaching priests to read the book of the law publicly to the people every day. Observance of the statutes recorded by Moses, especially those given in the book of the covenant in Deuteronomy, made Hezekiah's reign prosperous.
