2 Chronicles 30:22
And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers. And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.
The verse describes Hezekiah's Passover after the streets of Jerusalem had been cleared of the idolatrous shrines set up in the reign of Ahaz. Hezekiah spoke encouragingly and comfortingly to the Levites who taught the people the good, sound knowledge of the Lord. Day by day during the feast the Levites and teaching priests instructed the people, so that they heard publicly the law of Moses and learned what God required.
Throughout the seven days of the feast the people ate, offered peace offerings, and made confession to the Lord God of their fathers. Through that teaching, those who had prepared their hearts to seek God found pardon. Great gladness took hold of the worshiping multitude, and priests and Levites with loud instruments joined with the people in united daily praise to the Lord for His grace and mercy.
The people's desire to learn more led them to continue the celebration for another seven days. Keeping the statutes of Moses, especially those in Deuteronomy, helped make Hezekiah's reign prosperous.
