2 Chronicles 30:24
For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.
This verse belongs to the account of Hezekiah's first Passover celebration. That gathering brought a great multitude together for worship, offerings, and instruction in God's will. During the celebration provision was made for priests to teach the people by publicly reading the book of the law each day.
Observance of Moses' statutes, especially those in Deuteronomy, helped make Hezekiah's reign prosperous. The feast was so joyful and profitable that the people chose to continue it for another seven days to learn more fully the way of the Lord. The verse calls God's people in the present day to give themselves wholly to the Lord.
