2 Chronicles 31:16

Beside their genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even unto every one that entereth into the house of the LORD, his daily portion for their service in their charges according to their courses;

In Hezekiah's restoration of worship the people faithfully brought in tithes and offerings, and the supplies were stored to provide for those serving in the Lord's house. The arrangement was the organized support of the priests and Levites serving in the temple, with daily portions assigned according to their duties and courses, and the distribution recorded by genealogy.

This is the Bible manner of bestowing tithes and offerings, in which there is nothing haphazard and no part of the work is well supplied while another languishes. Tithes and offerings are to be brought to the place God specifies and delivered into the treasury under faithful treasurers, with Cononiah the Levite as ruler furnished with a corps of Levite assistants to make proper distribution to all who should enjoy the benefits of the treasury. That distribution is made to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small, even unto every one that enters into the house of the Lord, his daily portion for his service in his charge according to his course.
