2 Chronicles 32:25

But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

Hezekiah did not render again according to the benefit done unto him, failing to respond with gratitude and devotion for what God had done for him. The benefit was God's gift of recovery to him. His heart being lifted up means his heart became proud, and he magnified himself.

When the ambassadors from Babylon came, his pride led him to display his treasures and the riches of Jerusalem to exalt himself, instead of honoring God and glorifying Him by bearing witness to His power, goodness, and compassion. Because of this sin, wrath came upon him, and also upon Judah and Jerusalem. The ambassadors carried back news of the riches they had seen, which led Babylon's rulers to seek them and plan to take Jerusalem's treasures, so his indiscretion prepared the way for that outcome.
