2 Chronicles 32:29

Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance: for God had given him substance very much.

The verse belongs to the record of Hezekiah's reign and experience. In that setting it stands connected with his reformation and with God's deliverance of Judah from the Assyrians in answer to the king's humility and the people's prayers. It reports that God gave Hezekiah exceedingly great wealth, providing him cities and abundant possessions of flocks and herds. That prosperity later became a cause of pride and backsliding. His experience recorded here serves as an admonition against asking God to yield to one's own will and insisting until the request is granted.
