2 Chronicles 35:14

And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

2 Chronicles 35:14 belongs to the account of Josiah, one of Judah's best and most devoted kings, whose death Jeremiah lamented. At Josiah's Passover it records that the Levites prepared food for themselves and for the priests because the priests were occupied in offering burnt offerings and the fat until night. That Passover of Josiah was one of the Passovers remembered as a time when God blessed His ancient people. It was a great revival of hope, though a more hopeless apostasy followed it. Josiah's religious revival illustrates that great revivals lead to great missionary efforts at home and abroad.
