2 Chronicles 35:16

So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.

All the service of the LORD belonging to Josiah's Passover was prepared and performed on the same day. The Passover was kept and burnt offerings were offered upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of King Josiah. The account belongs to the reign of Josiah, which ended in 607 BC. He was the last king of Jerusalem who obeyed the LORD's commandments and kept His statutes, and after his reign the Jews no longer kept and could not keep the release years or Jubilees.

Josiah's Passover was part of a religious revival. That revival brought a great revival of hope before the people's later apostasy. Renewed spiritual life moves those who receive it to share its blessings with others, so that revival leads to missionary effort.

Josiah's Passover was an occasion when God blessed His people. It stands as a picture of reverent, well-ordered worship.
