2 Chronicles 35:7
And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king’s substance. And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king’s substance.
Josiah was a pious king who supplied Passover offerings from his own resources for all who were present, giving thirty thousand lambs and young goats and three thousand bullocks.
His Passover belongs to the account that brought a greater revival of hope than Hezekiah's earlier Passover.
That revival was followed by Israel's deeper apostasy.
Josiah's Passover was an occasion when God blessed His people.
Its gathering and worship are remembered in connection with that blessing.
The king's provision was generous giving from his own substance, and stands as evidence of the many valuable contributions made to support worship and sacred service.
