2 Chronicles 4:13
And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars. And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars.
The verse describes four hundred pomegranates arranged on two wreaths, with two rows of pomegranates on each wreath to cover the two rounded capitals upon the pillars. It belongs to the account and description of Solomon's building and furnishing of the temple with its sacred vessels and furnishings. That building and furnishing took place during the undivided kingdom. It came under Solomon after David purposed to build a house of God and was refused, gathered material for the building, and Solomon was called to the kingdom.
The temple was a permanent sanctuary built on the same general plan as Moses' tabernacle but on a larger and grander scale, its construction followed a pattern, and its furnishings and ornaments were made with great care and expense. With its two holy places, sacred furnishings, plan and ministration, it followed the same plan and ministry as the tabernacle and served as a pattern of the heavenly temple, which therefore has two holy places.
The chapter's account shows that Hiram completed the work for which Solomon employed him and gives no account of his death, so it does not support the claim that he was murdered and buried beneath the Most Holy Place.
