The king and all the people together dedicated the house of God by offering sacrifices before the Lord. That dedication was followed by a seven-day joyous feast, attended by a great gathering drawn from across the kingdom. After those seven days came the observance of the Feast of Tabernacles. When all was finished the people returned to their homes, glad in heart for the goodness God had shown to Israel.
