2 Chronicles 9:10

And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, which brought gold from Ophir, brought algum trees and precious stones.

The servants of Huram together with the servants of Solomon fetched gold from Ophir and also carried back algum timber and precious stones. That fetching was one venture in a wider traffic operated out of Ezion-geber on the Red Sea, and its earnings and cargoes fed the trading advantage of the kingdom. In those years of Solomon's rule the queen of Sheba journeyed to him to prove his wisdom with hard questions, arriving with gold and spices and precious stones. When she had listened to his answers and looked upon his prosperity, she confessed that his wisdom came from God, who had set him on the throne to execute judgment and justice over Israel. Yet while the seaborne commerce enriched the realm, the daily contact it gave with travelers from other lands passed without telling them of the true God.
